Target Setting
The purpose of the National Chung Hsing University Big Data Center (called the ‘Center’) is to enhance the school’s interdisciplinary teaching research and academic innovation in the field of big data technology, as well as the industry-academia cooperation. The National Chung Hsing University decided to establish the "National Chung Hsing University-Big Data Center" at the 76th universityaffair conferencein 2016 on account of a need for the development of big data technology. The center works to promote big data technology’s teaching, researchdevelopment, servicespromotion andtalentcultivation.
Main Work Items
The main projects that are promoted by the center include collecting data from every industry or trade and conducting follow-up data analysis and research.According to different industries, for example, in manufacturing, Center could improve productivity, strengthen the activation of machines, and reduce production costs. In the retail industry, Center can accurately market and explore potential customers. In the medical service industry, Center can improve medical quality and precision medicine. Moreover, the goal is to save human resources, reduce the burden of operations and other industries.
In terms of data talent cultivation, center also promote career planning for industry and academia aggressively. Furthermore, Center mainly use practical cases through the industry to conduct down-to-earth operations and cooperate with course taking to further strengthen students' practical experience and technical concepts. On the other hand, Center also import the AI application technology which is required by the industry to enhance students' employment competitiveness in the future. These students could become as AI applied talents, which could seamlessly meet the needs of the job market, and also solve the shortage of talents in the industry and unemployment after graduation.
